Gila Safari and Night Sky Photography Adventure

PPANM is presenting an early Summer Safari in Southwestern New Mexico. This is a hands on fun photographic exploration the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Park 48 miles from Silver City.

Our adventure will begin Saturday evening at George and Melinda’s home at 7:30PM and travel 15 minutes up NM Highway 15 to the rock out-cropping’s overlooking the confluence of Bear Cr. and Cherry Cr. to photograph the Milky Way.

Sunday morning we will depart Silver City for the 80 minute drive to the Cliff Dwellings National Park.

Along the way, we will have many stops to photograph panoramas of the Gila Wilderness. After touring and photographing the Cliff Dwellings, we will have a picnic lunch and then explore the West Fork of the Gila River.

For those who love hot springs, the Gila Springs Campground is only $5.00 per person to soak and play in the Gila river 50 feet away.

Meet PPANM Members, George and Melinda Austin:

George and Melinda have owned and operated Silver Imaging photo lab since 1995 In Silver City New Mexico. In 2015 they added Silver Portrait Studio to the business to deal with the demise of the 35mm film industry. They were awarded the Local High School yearbook photography in 2006. They now have contracts with pre-k, elementary, middle and high schools in addition to their family and children studio and commercial business.
