Mark McCall Bio

Mark received his first “real” camera at the tender age of 8, after his grandmother gifted him with a plastic 35mm which she received for an minimum order of mail-order makeup. Summers were spent shooting horses and ranchland using a weekly $5 in allowance money to buy 4 rolls of film and processing at the local TG&Y.

Fast forward 40 years.
Mark owns a New York style red brick boutique photography studio in historic downtown Lubbock Texas specializing in wedding, portrait and commercial photography, opening in 1996.
McCall Photography was one of the first fully digitally integrated studios in the US, and is Texas PPA’s resident expert in resolving the technical issues facing digital photographers. Mark is an expert at digital file handing, manipulation and protection and currently holds all three Photographic Degrees from PPA.
He was Texas PPA’s President in 2014 and is the current Chairman of the TPPA Print Competition Committee.

A 7 time Photographer of the Year Award winner, Mark has 25 images in the Loan and Showcase collections, and has over 300 PPA based awards and accolades from various associations.
He has a simple, laid back approach to photography which isn’t just his occupation, it’s also his hobby and passion.
